Point to the View button and press the left mouse button to bring up the View Menu.  From the menu you will be able to select various operations that affect what will and what will not be displayed.

Boundaries

Selecting Boundaries will bring up a window where you may select the types of boundaries to include on the base map.
 

Hydrography

Selecting Hydrography will bring up a window where you may select the types of water features to include on the base map.
 

Roads & Trails

Selecting Roads & Trails will bring up a window where you may select the classes of roads and trails to include on the base map.
 

Railroads

Selecting Railroads will bring up a window where you may select the types of rail features to include on the base map.
 

Misc. Transport.

Selecting Misc. Transport will bring up a window where you may select the types of other transportation features to include on the base map.
 

Go GNIS

Selecting Go GNIS will bring up a series of windows which allow you to search the Geographic Names Information System for specific features, which may be selected by location, type and name.  When found, the appropriate surface may then be automatically loaded into the display window.
 

Options

Selecting Options allows you change various options affecting the way in which things are displayed:

• Redrawing allows you change the method in which the screen is redrawn when you move new areas into the display window.
• Units allows you to choose the units of measure for length and area.
• Coordinates allows you to choose the format for displaying the current coordinates in the status box.

Legend

Selecting Legend will bring up a window which displays a legend for your overlay map or the base map.
