This setting determines the format of the coordinates displayed in the status box for the current mouse position. You may choose any or all of these three options:
Northing and Easting
These are the coordinates used by the current coordinate system. For a geographic coordinate system these values will represent millionths of degrees of latitude and longitude north of the equator and east of the Greenwich Meridian. (Points south or west therefore have negative values.) For a UTM coordinate system these values will represent centimeters north of the equator and east of a line parallel to and 500 km west of the central meridian of the current UTM zone.Degrees (+/-)
These are standard geographic coordinates expressed in degrees. Positive numbers indicate north and east, negative numbers indicate south and west. For instance, 40° 30' N is shown as 40.500000, and 75° 20' W is shown as -75.333333.Degrees, Minutes, Seconds (N/S, E/W)
These are standard geographic coordinates expressed in degrees, minutes, and seconds. N, E, S, and W indicate direction.
