Measure Path allows you to find the distance between two pointnodes along a path that you select on the base map. (Overlay maps are not supported.)
Step
1: Select pointnode for the start of path.
Step
2: With right pointer button, select Measure Path.
Step
3: Click Go.
Step 4: Select the first line in the path. (The cursor has changed to
indicate that you are in Measure Path mode, the starting pointnode is
marked with a red X, and the other end of the first line is marked
with a green X.)
Step 5: Select the next line in the path. (The red X and the green X
advance.)
Step
6: Move pointer along the path to select the remaining lines in the path.
It is not necessary to precisely trace the path, you only need to select
each line in order. (The path will be formed by the selected lines,
not the exact movement of the pointer). Once a line is selected, you
may quickly move to the end of the line to select the next line.
Step
7: If a line is selected which was not desired (that is, your path
makes a wrong turn), simply move the pointer to select the desired line.
Step
8: Continue until you have selected the final line which connects to the
pointnode for the end of path.
Tip:
There is no need to point at the end pointnode itself. In fact, it
is best not to because you may inadvertently select a line beyond the ending
pointnode, as is the case in this image.
Tip:
If you do overshoot, simply back up and point to the final line again.
If you change your mind, you back up along the path to deselect as many
lines as you like, and then move forward again over new lines. Alternately
you may start over from the beginning by using the right pointer button to
select Measure Path, clicking Stop, then starting over from
step 1.
Note that the length of the path is displayed in the bottom status box.
When you have finished, you may use the right pointer button to select
Measure Path again, then click Stop to exit Measure Path mode.
