To examine the attribute fields for an object on an overlay map, use the View Attributes item in the right-button menu.

First, point to the pointnode or line. It will become highlighted.
 
 

Hold the right pointer button, choose View Attributes from the menu, then release the button.
 
 

The View Attributes popup will appear. You may leave the window up and continue working, or close it.
